New School Aylesbury (NSA)

This scheme forms part of the second phase of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) initiative in Southwark.  It is on the Aylesbury Estate in Walworth which is currently undergoing extensive regeneration.

The New Aylesbury School will provide accommodation for a specialist Engineering and Technology School.  An existing Victorian Board School on the site is to be refurbished and new buildings comprising of a four storey structure with a metal clad entrance pavilion together with a separate gymnasium building are to be built.


A J Morrisroe constructed the Sub and Superstructure frames for the new build structures, comprising:

Groundworks - sub slab drainage, Pile Caps and Ground Beams and insitu RC ground floor slab to the new four storey block and the separate gymnasium structure.

Superstructure - Construction of reinforced concrete columns and walls from ground floor level, the construction of suspended reinforced concrete floor and roof slabs and the construction of reinforced concrete upstands to the four storey teaching block.
