Women In Construction

At Morrisroe, we recognise the benefits that a diverse team has on our performance as a company. We work hard to foster an inclusive environment, helping you to fulfill your potential and succeed in your career.

Morrisroe actively seeks applications from women for all roles within our business, but particularly for site workers and engineers. We regularly employ women in roles from shuttering carpenter to groundworker. Experience has shown us that having a more gender diverse project site helps improve our efficiency and the work environment for everyone’s benefit.

Featured on Women into Construction’s case studies, our site at Elephant and Castle has been praised by our female site workers. Ray, an experienced shuttering carpenter describes her day to day experience:

‘It’s the best site I’ve ever worked on. I feel welcomed and respected as both a woman and a carpenter. There are more women generally on site, and the increased visibility of women has changed the way the guys are with each other, as well as changing the site culture generally for the better.’

Ray works with two other female shuttering carpenters and the all-woman team leads the pack for productivity and organisation. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the site’s supervisors. With supportive managers and supervisors, the women in Morrisroe’s construction team can expect to develop their skills and have excellent career progression opportunities.

Whatever your level of experience, if you’re a female construction worker who wants to get into or progress in the construction industry we want to hear from you!
