Chelsea Bridge Wharf

Project Description

Client: Berkeley Homes

Close to the river Thames, with great views over leafy Battersea Park, this fashionable development is just minutes from Chelsea with its range of shops and cafés . Glass-fronted terraces, balconies and patios offer a spectacular view across green space, which is always at a premium in London. With a fully equipped residents’ gym, you get to train in style, close to home, as well as having Battersea Park available for other exercise pursuits.

The gardens are beautifully built, with a sunken courtyard space, along with a landscaped space at street level, which contains eateries for residents to relax and socialise. The created lakes have this space known as the water gardens, which create a beautiful area to walk in. Another noteworthy point is that the roof was the UK’s first use of blue and red duotone coated aluminium sheets, which gives it an impressive look. Some of the buildings are at seven storeys, and some at 14, giving variation to the height of the project, and showing off the roof colours.

Morrisroe was appointed as principal contractor for the sub and superstructure during the fifth phase of this development. These works included excavation and formation of the underground car park, where residents can rent a space if parking is necessary, and thus we also created the foundations of the building. Morrisroe was also tasked with the piling and the concrete frame for the sub and superstructure of the development. The creation of a basement so close to the river meant that Morrisroe had to be extremely careful to keep the project from being flooded, and were proud to be selected and trusted with this duty.
