- Project Title: New Regents College – Nile Street
- Client: London Borough of Hackney
- Main Contractor: McLaren
- Architect: Avanti
- Engineer: Pell Frischmann
The Nile Street project in the centre of Shoreditch forms part of the London Borough of Hackney’s £110m regeneration of the area. When completed, it will provide 175 residential homes, commercial space, and a new special needs school. Surrounded by historic buildings, this location will also provide a new community space for the school and local residents to enjoy.
The substructure and superstructure elements of the project are comprised of bulk excavation, construction of a raft basement slab, a two storey school, an eight storey and a twenty nine storey residential tower block.
The project started in April 2017 and is due for completion in October 2018.
With the exception of the basement and ground floor slabs, all other slabs are post-tensioned. They have been designed by Morrisroe subsidiary, Kingscote Design, and are being constructed by our own specialist post tensioning team.
