This stunning development of 254 apartments was designed to achieve the Code Standards of Sustainable Homes Level 4, one of the first for a building of this kind. Designed by award-winning architects Squire & Partners, renowned for their contemporary developments in traditional urban settings, One The Elephant features two main architectural elements. A slender and elegant tower, it rises to 37 storeys, with 254 homes, and a four storey pavilion containing 30 homes. The 37 storey tower will provide residents with one the most stunning views across London.

Morrisroe was commissioned by Lendlease to undertake the reinforced concrete basement substructure and reinforced concrete superstructure for the 37 storey tower and pavilion buildings. The project commenced in autumn 2013, with the completion of the pavilion in spring 2014, with the Tower following on for completion and handover during autumn 2014.

Arranged around a central reinforced concrete core, the tower is circa 700m² and divided into two pours, with a 6-day cycle time. The reinforced concrete stair and lift core was constructed using slipform technology.

Like other Morrisroe projects, we have applied state of the art construction technology and practices to ensure safe and on-time delivery of this project. This has included hydraulic protection screens, panel formwork systems to eliminate works at height, and lightweight column formwork to reduce risks associated with manual handling.
