Located on the site of former 4/5 storey buildings and car park, the new high rise construction at 119-224 Marsh Wall, London E14 is now underway. The site Is approximately 100m x 30m with a target completion date of 2019.
The main contractor Balfour Beatty awarded Morrisroe the contract to construct the 2-storey basement and the 53-storey tower located on the Western side of the site and 1-storey pavilion building with landscaped areas on the Eastern side.
The core will be cast using the jump form system, followed by post-tensioned slabs. The stairs will be cast using Stairmaster systems.
Morrisroe is undertaking dig and construction of the 2-storey basement including the waterproof lining of the walls in the Eastern side. Level B1 will have a part suspended floor on the Eastern side. Piling on the site will provide the main foundations for the structure.
As part of the dig, Morrisroe ground workers and engineers are also undertaking the construction of the concrete capping beam and propping system.
